Steve is a 30 year veteran of the high tech industry and has a strong record of achievement in the global commercialization of highly innovative technology products. He is experienced in the general management and leadership of all functional areas of a growing technology company. His career has been dedicated to the development and commercialization of innovative, game-changing technology products. He holds broad based technology experience in medtech, mobile software, electronic systems, and semiconductors.
His previous CEO experience includes two technology startups, WebV2, a company funded by Siemens AG, and Agoura Technologies, funded by venture firm, American River Ventures. He previously held the position of VP of Marketing & Sales at publically traded Information Storage Devices and VP of Strategic Marketing at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).
Steve holds an MS in Management from the Stanford GSB, an MBA from Santa Clara University, an MSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a BSEE from Lehigh University.
Glen has over 20 years of product development, innovation and leadership experience. He presently serves as President of Innovation & Development, VP Global Partnerships, and Chief Product Officer of Mindray Medical International, the largest medical device company in China. He previously served as Zonare’s Vice President of Engineering for over 12 years, having led all technology and product development. Zonare was acquired by Mindray in 2013. At Zonare, he established and managed a world class engineering team to cover all aspects of engineering development, including electrical, mechanical, software, regulatory, transducers, and imaging physics. The team consisted of 30 engineers, 15 with Ph.D.’s.
Glen has brought over a dozen products to market generating over $200M of revenue. He holds 38 issued patents, 5 allowed, and 30 pending in the medical device field. His passion is to bring new technologies to market that can have a positive impact on humanity. He has established research collaborations with leading academic centers both in the US and abroad. At InCube Labs, he was instrumental to the growth of a number of medical device companies, such as Fe3 Medical, Corhythm, Neurolink, and Python Medical.
Glen also serves as a visiting professor at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology and is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Glen holds a BSEE from Carnegie Mellon University, a MSEE and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University where his doctoral research focused on a biosensor design.
Eric Silfen, MD, MSHA, MA is a physician executive and biomedical informatician who has most recently architected and managed Medical Affairs in a Fortune 500 multinational company. As a start-up visionary for numerous medical initiatives, he possesses an engaging, participatory leadership style that creates tangible, financially viable, sustainable programs that have exceeded customer and business expectations.
Currently, Dr. Silfen serves as the principal for MedTech Analytics, LLC, a privately held firm that empowers medical affairs organizations within the medtech, biotech and pharma industries to accelerate market adoption of their company’s products, services and solutions through thought leadership, clinical innovation management, market intelligence and health knowledge management.
Most recently, Dr. Silfen was Senior Vice-President and Chief Medical Officer for Philips Healthcare where he was responsible for establishing a medical consciousness throughout the company. In this role, he worked closely with R&D groups to develop and evaluate biophysiological patient monitoring devices for hospital and remote home use. In addition, he devised methods for demonstrating the clinical and econometric evidence that commercially differentiated Philips Healthcare’s products, services and solutions, thereby supporting Philips’ commitment to personal health and well-being.
Professionally, Dr. Silfen is board-certified in emergency medicine and internal medicine. He received his medical degree and training from Georgetown University; his MSHA from the Medical College of Virginia; and, his MA in biomedical informatics from Columbia University. He has served as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University; as Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Health Administration at the Medical College of Virginia; and, as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital.
He has published widely on such topics as clinical emergency diagnosis and therapy, health policy and hospital management, biomedical information systems and clinical decision support as well as actively contributes to a Huffington Post healthcare blog.
Paul is a co-founder of LifeWave Biomedical and holds 35 years of experience in the electronics industry, predominantly in radar system design. He has extensive hardware and software radar system design experience at i4C Innovations/Intersections, LifeWave Biomedical, Lockheed Martin, and Texas Instruments. In addition to radar systems, he has experience in image compression, computer networking, and embedded systems.
At i4C Innovations (LifeWave Biomedical Animal Licensee), Paul served as Director of Product Development and led the development of three generations of canine vital sign collars based on UWB radar. He was responsible for the development of the first generation product and its integration into volume production at the contract manufacturer Sanmina. He also led the FCC compliance testing/certification. Paul has subsequently developed two new generations of the radar design with the latest poised for production. Paul also served on the European Union ETSI UWB Working Group (TGUWB) for 2 years where I helped revise the UWB regulations to comply with the new Radio Equipment Directive (RED).
At LifeWave Biomedical, Paul served as Vice President of Engineering and was the primary technical contributor on a variety of UWB radar sensor designs, with responsibility for system architecture, hardware design, test/debug, and algorithms. He designed clinical studies, developed protocols, and participated in a number of animal and human studies. He was also the principle inventor on LifeWave’s UWB patents, including a broad horizontal patent covering the use of UWB radar with advanced signal processing for medical applications. He successfully completed projects for the US Army and NIH/NHLBI, including basic cardiopulmonary measurement, detection of changes in cardiac stroke volume, and a CPR/resuscitation aid featuring detection of viable blood pressure.
Earlier in Paul’s career, he served at Lockheed Martin as a senior hardware engineer for the Information and Communications Division. During his first two years with this division, he designed circuitry for radar and communication systems. Most notably, he was the lead RF engineer on the RFGS program (a $6M communications simulator for the U.S. Navy Submarine Command). In this capacity, he was responsible for the architecture, design, fabrication, and test of all circuitry operating between 250MHz and 4GHz. His frequency synthesizer design was a dramatic improvement over previous efforts and became the base for a variety of subsequent projects.
Paul started his career at Texas Instruments (TI) as a hardware design engineer. At TI, he worked for the Advanced Projects Department of the Radar Division where he designed numerous circuits for next generation radar systems. His design experience included: high voltage switched mode power supplies, digital radar sequencers, TWT controllers, quadrature receivers, phase-locked loops, frequency multipliers, and microwave cavity filters.
Paul holds a BSEE from University of California, Davis and an MSEE from California State University, Sacramento. His graduate research focused on hardware and algorithmic improvements to pulse Doppler ultrasound imaging.
